Once a niche practice area, antitrust has continually made headlines for the last few years. In a rapidly changing political environment, what do attorneys need to know to stay current in this dynamic area? This course provides a foundation for selected emerging issues.From the Robinson Patman Act to Section 8 of the Clayton Act, many old antitrust laws are re-entering the spotlight to revive the long-lost remedy to monopolies. The legendary breakups of Standard Oil and AT&T and the attempted breakup of Microsoft can seem like fables from distant eras dominated by entirely different technological paradigms, but have the Big Tech cases closed the gap to revitalizing one of the most potent tools in antitrust law in a lasting way? Recent outcomes and doctrinal developments will be covered.This course will provide attendees with a foundation that equips legal professionals from any experience level with a background in core legal frameworks and an understanding of emerging issues in antitrust.Learning Objectives:
