About The Lecturer

Brett Bendistis is an attorney barred in PA, NJ, and DE. He splits his professional time between private practice and academia. He operates a solo general practice law firm that assists attorneys in complicated corporate, real estate, estate, civil law, criminal law, and family law issues. Brett has presented arguments in every Court in the Delaware system, including successful appeals before the Delaware Supreme Court.

Brett also serves as a professor at undergraduate and graduate levels of legal education. Brett teaches undergraduate classes in topics that include legal methods, civil law, criminal law, administrative law, cyber law, family law, real estate law, and international law. Brett has also taught classes at Delaware Law School on topics that include legal methods, real estate law, comparative constitutional law, and many other areas of legal expertise. Brett is currently teaching in the SJD program, which assists students in developing a legal dissertation in an advanced area of international law by developing legal research and writing techniques.

In his free time, Brett continues his legal pursuits by preparing, recording, and editing a legal podcast that discusses the U.S. Supreme Court docket. The podcast, entitled The Citizen’s Guide to the Supreme Court, has been posting weekly episodes since 2015 and was named one of the ABA’s Top 100 Web Premises. The Podcast covers a different Supreme Court case every week to help convey issues present in Supreme Court cases for a legal and non-legal audience. The podcast has a worldwide audience and has accumulated over a million total downloads.
